This message focuses on the past year having been a tough one, with profits and sales down from previous year. Peter Salsbury thanks staff for dealing with customer complaints and talks about reasons behind the difficult year. These include: - too many expansion plans taking place at same time with twenty stores undergoing renovation, - a dull range - too much focus on fashion compared to classic, - Values not good enough - competition better, - Bad publicity - on quality, interim results and board succession, He then discusses how this will be rectified by changing focus towards customer by changing attitude and structure. Four new business units to be set up: Department stores, Regional centres, High Street, and Neighbourhood stores. The second part of reorganisation will be to create a marketing division taking all resources across various product groups. There will be more advertising but streamlining of management and sales staff will result in some loss of jobs. Will focus on quality, value and service and to encourage staff to think more innovatively. Running Time: 0:09:24
