A voiceover welcomes people to the 1984 spring fashion show, with the audience is seated at banquet style tables. The introduction discusses M&S heritage, and begins with models in period dress. The models are presented in themes, by style and colour including menswear and womenswear. Each theme includes daywear, evening and beachwear. Casualwear is presented first, some with a nautical/ military theme. More formal and eveningwear is also included. There are masculine shapes with monochrome, natural and khaki colours; Ladies skirt suits with hats and minimal other accessories; Ladies day wear and swim wear with a 1950s style; Formal wear accessorised with hats and gloves; Utility wear with loose fit bottoms and wide fit jackets, military in look.
