We’ve made a video to help you get started with using the Digital Archive, and you can see more tips on searching and navigating further down this page.
Browse Collections
- From the home page, browse our collections by clicking on or by selecting one of the collections or items on the home page.
- Explore the different sections. Everything is arranged going from the general (ie. staff magazines) to the specific (a single issue of a magazine). As you click through each option you can return to a higher level by clicking or by clicking a level in the navigation at the top (like this example):
Search
- Search for a specific keyword using
- You can enter a single key word like training.
- Or if you are searching for an exact phrase like “percy pig”, use double quotation marks to retrieve exact matches only.
- This will retrieve a list of all items mentioning training or Percy Pig in the item description or within the document.
- Click on one of the resulting items, and if it’s a multi-page document use the search function within the pdf to locate the page where your search team was mentioned:
- To go back to your search results, just click your browser ‘back’ button.
- It’s not currently possible to filter search results by date.
There are several options for viewing material
- These buttons allow you to view the material as a list, table or as thumbnails:
- If you’re exploring an image collection you might want to click to browse through larger versions of the images.
- When viewing an image, these buttons are available:
zoom in and out:
back to original size:
toggle full screen view:
rotate the image:
If you can’t find what you are looking for, please email us. Not all of our archive content has been digitised but we may be able to share relevant materials with you.
